6 slices Albany Superior White Bread
500g mince
½ onion finely chopped
15ml wholegrain mustard
15ml mixed dried herbs
10ml salt
5ml pepper
1-2 eggs beaten gently with a fork
15-20ml sesame seeds
In a bowl mix together the mince, onion, seasoning, herbs and mustard, until well combined
Using a rolling pin, roll the bread slices out to about 1-2mm thick
Divide the mince into 6 and roll each amount into a sausage shape that is equal to the width of a slice of bread
Place the mince sausage onto the middle of each slice of bread so that it fits perfectly along the width of the slice
Brush the farthest edge of the bread with beaten egg
Roll the bread around the mince from the edge nearest to you and using the egg-washed edge to seal your sausage
Place the 6 “sausage rolls” onto a baking tray leaving a space between them
Brush the tops with more beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds
Bake in a 200C oven for about 20- 30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through
Serve with dipping sauce like tomato sauce or mayonnaise or BBQ sauce
